The city of Golden, Colorado lies just West of Denver at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Founded during the Pike's Peak gold rush, it was used as a mining camp

These photos were taken in November when I visited there. I particularly like this welcoming sign spanning the main street and proclaiming "Where the West lives".

I think my grandparents took me thru Golden on our trip to Colorado when I was a kid, but I can't remember for sure. I know we visited Colorado Springs, cuz we went to the Air Force Base there & it was the 1st time I saw soldiers marching, saying, "Left, left, left, right, left!" LoL! They also sang some kind of rhyming song, but I can't remember the words.
I've seen the captcha video, but I'm just thinking that maybe they're having us do the work & they're getting out of paying employees to do what we're doing & getting paid millions to sell those books... I'm just not real sure what to think about it.
i was there quite a long time ago, too...i can see how the place got its name during the fall season!
I think I've been through there once. Charming town.

That is a great sign and I love the shot of the town with the mountains in the background. Carver, ABC Wednesday Team
I love that first shot!
Come see how GOOFY kids can be
Love the charm of the mountains. I think I went through there years ago. I like the Western feel of it.
Beautiful shots of the city with those mountains in the background.
Been there and LOVED the beer!
the mountains are indeed golden.:p i love the first photo.
Looks like a great city to visit!
That's such a lovely name for a town! And I like that the first photo is in golden light. I bet it wasn't as civilized a town during the gold rush as it appears to be now.
Very beautiful town. All the places are just amazing. Have you visited Luray, VA?
Golden looks like a fun place to explore with your camera! Love the name!
Your pictures show the gold on the mountains, although I guess the name comes from the actually metal that was mined there...
The arch gives a nice effect. I like how it frames the mountains.
