Quay

Quay- (pronounced key)- a landing place constructed along the edge of a body of water. A quay or wharf is built along and parallel to the shore; while a pier runs out and away from or at a right angle to the shore. A dock is the water next to a quay, wharf or pier where a ship could stay at low water.

P is for....

The Purple People Bridge, one of the nine bridges crossing the Ohio River at Cincinnati, has been in existence since 1872. Formerly the Newport Southbank Bridge, in 2002 it was heavily modified, painted purple, and re-opened in 2003 as a pedestrian only bridge.
Procter & Gamble was founded in 1837 by William Procter who immigrated from England, and James Gamble from Ireland, who met because they married sisters. What began as a small family operated candle and soap business is now a Fortune 500 worldwide corporation headquartered in Cincinnati.
This is where I ate lunch. Procter & Gamble is in the background on the left, and The Purple People Bridge is on the right.
