These wild horses followed our tour bus for almost half of the trip.
The White Rhino is a threatened species. The wide open spaces of The Wilds allows them to live in natural social groups which foster breeding.
This is an endangered One-horned Asian Rhino.
The Scimitar-Horned Onyx has been extinct in the wild since the mid 1970's.In 2007 an Onyx born at The Wilds was part of a group sent to Tunisia for a reintroduction project. There are fewer than 3000 Grevy's Zebras (endangered) remaining in the wild.
Hunting for their skins and competition for food and water with domestic livestock are contributing factors in the decline in Grevy's Zebras.
Two large humps of fat are one of the distinguishing features of the Bactrian Camel. This fat allows the camel to survive long periods without food or water.
There are less than 1,000 wild Bactrian Camels left.
And this is me taking pictures at the back of our tour bus. What a fun trip this was.
