My World

Warm humid weather and sufficient rain have contributed to the abundant corn crop in Ohio. When driving in rural areas, corn fields are visible in every direction. Last year's corn harvest was a record high; and USDA forecasts possible record yields yet again. This may be less than exciting, but this feeds America.
Views from around the world can be seen at My World on the sidebar.

Looks wonderful to me! And good news, too! It does feed America. Great reminder, Carol! Hope you have a lovely week!

I'm sure the farmers are happy if not excited about their record crops. I love to see fields of corn and wheat and barley.

hope that abundance in yield would translate to cheaper prices at the grocery store. this corn lover waits for flooding of these ears on her corner store :D

enjoy the new work week.

I love these shots and the post. Nothing is more important than adequate food and even with all of modern technology, all it takes are terrible droughts and other weather issues and crops fail. I am always glad to see evidence of bountiful harvests.

Wonderful shots of the field.

Seems like your corn is literally "as high as an elephant's eye". With the Russian wheat crop in tatters it is good to see that there is a decent food source somewhere in this world of ours.

Everything is made of corn! Hooray for the Midwestern farmers. It's about time they got a cash crop! (Although I MUST start limiting the amount of high fructose corn syrup in my diet!)

In SOuth Africa we are struggling with droughts in many areas which means our corn yield this year is much lower than ususal. Send some our way, me thinks.

I love seeing a good healthy corn crop. We tried growing a few ears, but our stalks didn't do very well. Maybe we need some Ohio soil and sun!
