Amish Country

It was cold and the skies were grey when I went to Holmes County last week end, but the little town of Mt. Hope was busy. This couple is heading for the parking lot...
All the streets had many horses and buggys on them.
The buggys mix in with the regular traffic, and no one seems to mind.
Even though the day was cold, there were a few convertibles on the road.
Most parking areas were a mix of buggys and cars.
These two were out for a walk.

Weekend Reflections

These six mallards, three males and three females, swam in front of me to get their picture taken in the Dayton Metroparks.
This is the same pond as above, the six mallards are sitting on the bank to the right.

I've been taking winter scenes this week before the snow melts. The white blanket adds a touch of beauty to some ordinary country roads.

The Plaza

While driving through a small city, I spotted this unusual building. It was probably a grand place in its day, and still worth noticing today. The Plaza is for rent as the sign in the bottom window states.

Z...is for Zoo

Zoo birds ....the flamingoes are beautiful with their long necks and long legs. This one kept his eye on me.
Not sure if this is a bad hair day or a good hair day...

Microfiction Monday

Susan at Stony River hosts Microfiction Monday. Her posted picture is a prompt to compose a story in 140 characters. This is Susan's picture followed my my microfiction story. The warm light beckoned. Cloaked in darkness and fear, she hesitated. Alas, familiarity prevailed.

Reaching back to Autumn for a splash of color, these three shots are all the same sunset. The first is the eastern sky with the moon rising.
Same shot a little closer...

Now and Then

A little snow has fallen every day this week; not much, just enough to cleanse the dullness of winter, and cause the roads to be slippery.
This is the same area, taken in mid November.

I wish I could say I took this in the wild, but it was at the Columbus Zoo. I do think he is a beautiful animal.
Bigger yawn...

Chihuly Reflections

The Columbus Museum of Art hosted the works of glass artist Dale Chihuly. The exhibit focuses on the element of light that is intrinsic to Chihuly's glass art.
Chihuly Illuminated offers a feast of bold color, dramatic forms and extraordinary composition...and also some nice reflections....
Weekend Reflections is hosted by James at Newtown Area Photo.
