Reflections

Echo Lake in Piqua...this lake is actually right in the middle of a small city....it has a walking/biking path beside it where I shot this from...

Skywatch

Dried cornfields are being harvested all over Ohio at this time of year, and will continue well into November. The dried corn will be taken to the grain mill and much of it eventually sold to be made into cereal. In the distance, a machine called a combine is harvesting this crop. Click to enlarge...

In the opposite direction, the cornfield and the split rail fence continue on to the horizon.

Owl and Orange

When I was in Hueston State Park this summer, this owl flew right across my path. I was so surprised I almost didn't get a shot since he perched for only a minute before he flew off.
Our fall has been so beautiful that I had to post this orange foliage.

Reflections

Tawawa Lake in Sidney is a favorite fishing spot for local kids. These two young boys are using fish line tied to sticks.

I'm not sure which shot I like better...the full view or the close up.....
More reflection shots are at Newtown Area Photo.

Skywatch

The Daniel Carter Beard Bridge spans the Ohio River connecting Cincinnati, Ohio and Newport, Kentucky. I took these shots from the Kentucky side.

It is nicknamed locally the "Big Mac Bridge" because its yellow arches are similar to the "Golden Arches" logo of McDonald's restaurant.

Part of Ohio

Ohio is home to large Amish communities and we frequently observe their unique culture. After snapping this photo...

I was surprised to see this little boy peek out of the buggy. (Notice the case of pepsi on the bottom ledge)
He was surprised to see me also....but what does this face say....

Covered Bridge Skywatch

The Eldean Bridge in Piqua OH was built in 1860 and named because early farmers used the bridge to carry grain to the Eldean Mill. The appearance and structure of the bridge have changed little from when it was built, although it was repaired and restored in 2005.
