Skywatch

The end of another day in Amish Country. These railings are a frequent site throughout the town. I am amazed at how long the horses stand waiting.

Dangerous

This little waterfall is in a small local park in a very small city. I was surprised to stumble upon it while walking through a wooded area. Pun intended...I slipped off one of these large rocks and cracked a rib. Ouch. But I managed to save my camera. Whew.

The larger boats are $58 an hour to rent! I've never rented one of them, but it seems pretty steep...Click on ABC Wednesday on the side bar...

Skywatch

When visiting the USMC Museum last month, I especially liked the view of the sky through the glass ceiling. Among other exhibits, the museum has an art gallery containing the work of 350 artists and photographers. The entrance foyer where I took my sky shot is flooded with light.
Skies from around the world can be seen at Skywatch on the side bar.

Skywatch

Rain came quickly after I took these photos of straw shocks on an Amish farm. Much physical labor goes into stacking and tying these bundles. The Amish people have a deep respect for nature and believe it is their sacred responsibility to take care of natural resources.

The shocks are left in the field to dry and eventually will be gathered on a large horse drawn wagon and taken to the barn.

Y.....is For

YELLOW .... in an otherwise boring shot, doesn't that stand of yellow aspens shout YELLOW. I took this shot in Colorado in October when the aspens were showing off. I am flying to CO this Friday for the week end ...the aspens won't be yellow...but I can't wait to see those mountains.

I joined ABC Wednesday on Y this round, and I've enjoyed it so much, I'm playing for another round...thanks Denise and crew.

View From the Bridge

This is one of a series of shots I took while walking over a bridge in MD. The sun was beginning to set, casting light on the sides of these boats.
