The rolling hills and scenic countryside add to the beauty of Holmes County. I would have liked to see this photo with a bright blue sky; but the cloud cover is interesting also....what do you think....blue sky or cloudy....

President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas TX on Nov. 22, 1963. The sniper was on the sixth floor of the building on the left... in the corner window. Today this is a museum depicting the events of that fatal day.
The president's car was driving down this street heading toward the railroad overpass when he was struck by two bullets.

This field has not yet been prepared for planting. A farmer might have hundreds of acres in different areas; and some fields are just waiting their turn. Rain is not a good thing right now until the crops are planted. The photo was taken at sunset facing the eastern sky.
Skies from around the world are waiting at Skywatch Friday...

The roots of this tree, and most trees along this stream, are above ground. I thought that tree roots needed to grow under the soil. What is going on...is it the type of tree....or the soil....doesn't this seem strange...
For this shot, I just stayed in the same spot and turned around....more roots....

Gramma Fannie's Quilt Barn is located in Holmes County, better known in Ohio as Amish country (note the horse and buggy in the lower right).
The barn is actually a store featuring locally hand made quilts. The Amish lady in the photo was cheerful and friendly and readily agreed to her picture being taken. The quilts were beautiful and expensive. This was not a bargain barn!
Upstairs, an elderly Amish woman hand stitches a quilt.

These painted ponies are in Richland Carousel Park in downtown Mansfield. The carousel includes 30 horses, 22 menagerie figures, and two chariots, all hand carved and hand painted. Each figure is a work of art, rich in design and color.
