Skywatch

The Big Four Bridge in Sidney (OH) is a local landmark that has carried rail traffic since 1923. This multi-span concrete structure was built after a devastating flood in 1913 wiped out the town bridge.I took this shot from the Gearhart Road Bridge, a metal truss bridge no longer in use.
The beauty of the Big Four Bridge is these massive concrete arches that span two roads and the Great Miami River.

I love the charm of an arch bridge. They just don't apply that kind of effort in structures anymore.

I don't think bridges built nowadays are as lovely as this one. The architect must have been an artist as well.

A beautiful old lady of a bridge, magnificently portrayed amongst all her fall finery mirrored in the river.
A spectacular post.

These are awesome shots Carol filled with great color and light!
When I saw the first one it reminded of a Roman viaduct. :)
A magnificent piece of architecture you have captured really beautifully!

A very impressive struckture. I like the way you used it as a backdrop to the fall trees in that first photo. Very nice.
