Ball of Fire

Taken on a country road, this sunset looked like a ball of fire. I took many shots...most of them framed with the telephone poles. I especially liked the band of yellow around the sun, which is better when enlarged...

More beautiful skies from around the world are waiting to be seen at Skywatch on the sidebar...

I love it when it appears that the sun is melting the sky! Definitely a great ball of fire shot! I love the composition!

SLGT over Ohio just happens to be the placement of the label for the green "slight risk" outline box. The whole area inside the green outline is at risk for severe weather.

That is the way a constructivist painter would treat the sunset and I love that!

Indeed, it looks like a fire ball. You have framed the picture with the telephone pole well. It just happened yesterday Grace called me from the office that she opened the window blind and saw a glorious sunset. It reflected on a picture on the wall like a fire ball.

Using Pamela Hansford Johnson's quote to describe this spectacular skyview in the night

"The sky broke like an egg into full sunset and the water caught fire."
