Skywatch

He was perched just like this, with his wings and tail fanned out, when I saw him from afar; and he waited just like this while I changed to a longer lens. I was so excited. As far as skies go...this grey sky is pretty typical for Ohio much of the time.

Click on Skywatch Friday on the side bar to view scenes from around the world.

Wow, that's an impressive shot, especially when enlarged. I guess he's warming his wings in the sun, but he certainly was cooperative to keep doing it while you prepared for the shot.

Wonderful detail and a gorgeous photo! I think he's trying to be as beautiful as he can be in order to attract a mate.

He looks very graceful also.

Wow, great shot. That is a big bird. I just read that a turkey vulture went through a van window while the people were driving. Be carefull when you see those.

Timing is everything. Awesome shot! It's amazing that he waited for you. Great blog. Thanks for stopping by monasterydailyphoto.

Carol, oops I forgot that I wanted to comment on your comment to me. Yes, there are definitely different kinds of monasteries. It sounds as though your friend is in a cloistered-contemplative community. We are men (Fathers and Brothers) who live a monastic life but are not cloistered so that we are available to serve the Church in a variety of ways. AMDG (indeed)
