Skywatch Friday

Beautiful this morning for a walk in the Metropark...  I took the left path down to the dam,  the white shape in the distant left.

This is the Great Miami River... very muddy today due to rain last night... two state conservation workers are taking water samples for testing.

As I walk down the boat ramp,  two geese hurry out of the water... (enlarge for better effect)
Taylorsville Dam... completed in 1922... height 78 feet...
The conservation workers said the river has risen over this marker, 16 ft.  I'll be back for photos when/if this event happens again...

I like that dam. It looks unusual.

That is high. We get high tides here, but that really looks like it could be quite harmful. Lovely images but as someone who lives near a river I hope it doesn't reach so high.

Wow those are great shots, and that is unreal how high the tides get, fascinating.

Have a great weekend!

Carol: What a neat look at the skies in our changeable state. I loved your geese take-off shot.

These are really something. I think river conversation must e a demanding science.

It looks so springlike. I can almost sell the fresh air and feel the breeze on my cheeks!

I hope the river doesn't flood, though.

Very nice series. It's hard to imagine it raining enough to make the river rise so high. I love the geese taking flight!
